I made it !

Today arrived and it was the: It was an enjoyable day. I went on a "Mystery Walk" with my one group of 4th graders. It was fun and LONG! However, we did reach our destination which was the local ice cream place! The kids had a treat and then we made it back to school with 5 minutes to spare before dismissal! LOL !
I went and said good-bye to each 4th grade class. Some girls gave me hugs which I though was so sweet! I will miss seeing some of my students everyday! I told them maybe I would see them next year in 5th grade.

My teaching life is up in the air for next year. Who knows where I will be? One thing is for sure, it is time to say: HELLO to SUMMER!!

Happy Summer Reading!!

End of the Year Games

Here are three of my favorite games that I use during the final weeks of school. They kids enjoy them as much as I do! Appleletters: I love how this game helps students with making words and spelling. Even my younger readers can play!!

Fowl Play Card Game: This is great because it can be used with any lesson! The students have to answer a question (such as what rhymes with 'rake') before I give them a card! I love their reaction when they get the wolf card and lose all their previous cards! I have played it with K students and 5th graders!

Build a Sentence Board Game: This game is great with my 3rd and 4th graders. It helps me see how far my students have come with language development and sentence structure. I also add questions to the game such as "Which word in your sentence is the verb?"

Happy Reading!

Happy June !!

I am in the final two weeks of school. I have a major case of "summer break syndrome!!" I find myself not paying attention to the students. I am looking out the window more at the sun and trees. I am daydreaming of the pool. I am just as bad as the students! LOL.

I better refocus for the next two weeks! I have some lessons left to teach. I have a few fun things in mind, too!

Here are some posts from last year for those teacher still working:

I hope everyone is enjoying the warm days of June! Stay focused teachers, the end is near! Happy summer to those teachers already on break. I envy you!
