Sunday Night

I have been enjoying the 4 day weekend.

Last nigh,t the hubby and I went to a nice Memorial Day Concert to hear our local philharmonic. It was nice. The orchestra did a song where each branch stood and we clapped for them!

Friday, the hubby and I celebrated our 11 year wedding anniversary. We went to see this in the afternoon:

I really enjoyed the music! I would see it again!

After dinner at Carrabba's (YUMMY!) we had this:

We went to hear an 80's band play and it was a lot of fun!

Last week, in grade 5 we worked on more myths:
Thank you TPT for the awesome readings!

We had a great video and will compare the text above next week!

We continue to work on vowel patterns!

I have about three more weeks of teaching. I am giving the kids some projects to work on for the remainder of the school year! I am hoping to take some pictures to share with all my bloggy friends.

Leave me a note. I love comments!

Only 24 More Teaching Days!

I have two four day work weeks in a row. The students will be hyped up the next few weeks between the field trips, half day, awards day, and field day!

I started a poetry unit in April because it was our state testing month. Then I had to go be a scoring leader. Then it was the beginning of end of the year reading testing, I just decided to keep going with the poetry unit since the kidos loved it.

Here are a few random pictures from the unit:

Teaching personification

One of my favorite poetic devices.

The kidos are now writing poems.
Do you use "I can" statements where you teach?

Here is a sample poem I wrote.

I asked the kidos to find the poetic devices.

I love when I have to take a day off and the kids leave me messages!

My Mom and me on Mather's Day!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend!

Don't ya just love the mini !

I know some teachers are ending their year, but in NY we have about 25 days to go! I am loving my Wednesday Lunch Book Club. I have been reading aloud my favorite book:

When I started this job in January, I has to clean out the room and remove things from the walls that I did not make. I decided to add a list of different genres we read as the months progressed:

I have been teaching a poetry unit to my fourth graders. They are loving it. here is a little taste of what we have been doing:

Who doesn't love Shel Silverstein?

I hope to add a few more pictures of my class happenings tomorrow!

It's May.. Currently Time !

I do not know where April went. Too many days of testing and then make-ups. I had to be a scoring leader, so there goes another teaching day!

Here is this month's Currently:

I love Nascar. I am a huge Jeff Gordan fan and I am sad that this is his last year.

This weekend was so sunny and after the long NY winter, it is SO NICE!

I need to get some food for this house. I will be shopping later!

It is suppose to be 77 by Friday and I cannot wait!

I have been tired lately and need to get back into a good sleep pattern,

I always spend time by the pool reading. I am looking forward to some relaxation and summer reading! I would love to go to Disney, but I do not think it is going to happen. I'd also love to go see a Broadway Show, but I don't think it is going to happen.

Go read some more Currently. It's a great way to find new blogs:
